Dear Tech Support:

Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0 . I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. In addition , Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activity. Applications such as Poker Night 10.3 , Football 5.0 , Hunting and Fishing 7.5 , and Racing 3.6

I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favorite applications. I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0 , but the uninstall doesn't work on Wife 1.0 . Please help!

Dear Troubled User

This is a very common problem.

Many men upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0 , thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program. Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING !!! It is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfriend 7.0 . It is impossible to uninstall, or purge the program files from the system once installed.

You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed to not allow this. Look in your Wife 1.0 manual under Warnings-Alimony-Child Support . I recommend that you keep Wife 1.0 and work on improving the situation. I suggest installing the background application "Yes Dear" to alleviate software augmentation.

The best course of action is to enter the command C:\APOLOGIZE because ultimately you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system will return to normal anyway.

Wife 1.0 i s a great program, but it tends to be very high maintenance . Wife 1.0 comes with several support programs, such as Clean and Sweep 3.0 , Cook It 1.5 and Do Bills 4.2 .

However , be very careful how you use these programs. Improper use will cause the system to launch the program Nag Nag 9.5 and/or PMS 99.0 . Once this happens, the only way to improve the performance of Wife 1.0 is to purchase additional software. I recommend Flowers 2.1 and Diamonds 5.0 !

WARNING!!! DO NOT , under any circumstances, install Secretary With Short Skirt 3.3 . This application is not supported by Wife 1.0 and will cause irreversible damage to the operating system.

Conditions of entry:-
1. Competition is open to all from aged 18 to 28 as at date of submission of entry
2. Passed SPM (or its equivalent that is recognized by the Malaysian Government) with at least A2 in English and Mathematics and B3 in Physics taken at one sitting. (Those from the Arts stream should have at least an A2 in General Science); or possess a Diploma/Degree in Engineering or Science-related disciplines with CGPA 3.0 and above and at SPM level scored at least a B4 in the subjects mentioned above taken in one sitting.
3. Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia both written and spoken.
4. Must be physically and mentally fit with good eyesight (visual acuity of at least 6/60 without optical aid, correctable to 6/6 and not colour blind. Should be able to successfully pass a medical examination up to a Class 1 standard conducted by a Department of Civil Aviation Authorised Medical Examiner (DAME).
5. Minimum height of 163 cm (5ft 3in).
6. Be prepared to sign a training bond with a surety.

Competition Highlights:-
1. The competition will select ten (10) winners as a whole. Only published entries will be considered for selection as one of the ten winners.
2. The 10 winners are entitled to be the first to attend the first round of selection for AirAsia's new pilot intake which will be determined by AirAsia and AirAsia retains the right to alter the date of interview at its discretion.
3. The 10 winners will spend a day (on a determined weekend) with a select group of pilots (captains possibly including the head pilot of AirAsia and head of pilot selection depending on availability) at AirAsia Academy for a chance to dig further into the profession and the possiblity of having a go at computer pilot simulation series.
4. The 10 winners will be selected based on their blog entries to AirAsia's blog and having met the above mentioned pre-requisities within the competition period. There will be an immediate disqualification for participants that do not meet the minimum requirements of entry as stipulated.
5. The panel of judges will consist of head of selection for the normal pilot interviews, head of pilots and an independent judge (to be announced). Decisions are made on a consensus basis based on creativity and decisions are final. The theme of blog entries is any content that may justify the selection of the candidate as a pilot (topics may range from these topics but not limited to the description of planes, reasons for career choice, content on AirAsia, etc). The decision by the panel of judges is final.
6. Entries may be made up of video, photos, essays or a combination of the mentioned. Multiple entries are accepted but decision to publish is left to the blog content administrators based on quality and relevance of submission. Although multiple submissions are allowed, only one submission for each participant will be published during the duration of the competition which indicates that the candidate has already been selected for consideration. Further submission of entries by published candidates will not be entertained.
7. A maximum of two (2) entries will be published daily on the blog.
8. The results will be announced as and when the panel of judges have concluded their evaluations. For candidates who have not received their SPM/STPM results by the date of competition, probationary results are accepted and will be further complimented with actual results upon announcement of SPM/STPM results if the candidate has been selected.
9. AirAsia reserves the right to rescind, terminate or postpone the competition at any time it sees fit.

MAS removes fuel surcharge on domestic travel

SUBANG: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will remove its domestic fuel surcharge for travel in Malaysia effective Wednesday, Jan 14.

It decided this after taking into account the decline in fuel prices, competitive pressures and the need to boost air travel during this period of economic slowdown.

“Today’s move is in line with the competition, ensuring even more competitive pricing,” MAS managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Sri Idris Jala said in a statement here Tuesday.

“Our stand is the total amount that the customer pays must be competitive, whether it’s the fares alone or fares in combination with the fuel surcharge. It’s the total sum of the parts that matters.”

The removal of the fuel surcharge will see more competitive prices for MH Value Fares which offers four fare options for economy class travel – MHlow, MHbasic, MHsmart and MHflex.
“There will be more value travelling with Malaysia Airlines as on top of the removal of the fuel surcharge, the fare options offer discounts off the fares - MHlow up to 70% discount, MHbasic, up to 50%; and MHsmart, up to 20%,” Idris said.

For international travel, MAS had earlier reduced fuel surcharges for travel from Malaysia to Korea, Japan, Paris, Hong Kong and Singapore, and from other points of sales to various destinations.

“We are always reviewing the surcharge as we continue to benchmark the international fuel surcharge against our competitors. In markets where other carriers are the major players, we will follow if they drop the surcharge. In markets where we lead, we will evaluate customer demand versus supply,” he added.

Despite recent falls in oil price, MAS said its fuel costs are still higher compared with when the surcharges were first introduced in 2004.

“The fuel surcharge only covers about 30% of the fuel cost,” Idris said.

Is this a picture of propeller stop rotating or a picture taken using a powerful camera? The answer is propeller stop rotating on air during my exercise in the air today... We are practicing engine fire on the port side engine so the drill is to shut down the engine that is on fire...After practicing for the second time shutting down the engine in air, i finally got a chance to take the picture of the propeller stop rotating when the engine is been shut down...

ICAO Aviation English Test Now Available

Ordinate Corporation says its Versant Aviation English Test will be available to begin testing pilots and air traffic controllers on July 31 in support of the new International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) requirements for English language proficiency. Since signing a cooperative research and development agreement in February 2006 with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Ordinate developed a specialized test that measures spoken aviation English proficiency. The test assesses spoken English proficiency levels against the standards for English language set by ICAO to promote enhanced safety. Using the test, airlines and airport authorities can ensure the English proficiency levels of their pilots and controllers meet or exceed the "Operational" Level 4 standard required by ICAO by the March 2008 deadline. The test's automated scoring provides consistent results without the variation of human ratings. Using the Versant provides a more efficient, scaleable option to aviation employers who must certify their employees meet the ICAO standard. The aviation test was designed by aviation industry and linguistic experts. The development team followed a rigorous process to design the test with aviation veterans who have operational, training, and ICAO language committee experience. The test is now complete and undergoing extensive field trials with more than 1,200 pilots and air traffic controllers to confirm its validity and reliability. Versant tests spoken language skills. Ordinate was founded by two Stanford University professors in 1996 to develop advanced language testing systems using speech processing technology and the advanced science of linguistics. Minimum grading for the ICAO approved English test will be Level 4 which valid for 2 years and a Level 6 would valid for your whole life. Diamond 42 here i come...

Finally waiting of almost two weeks after finishing my CPL test, i finally can fly the Diamond 42. It's a twin engine aircraft and it's the last flying training of my course... The Diamond 42 or called DA42 with two engine mounted on each side of the wing have a span of 44 ft. It's a superb flying machine...
